The Bible is the Word of God that has withstood the passage of centuries and lived on for thousands of years. In the Digital Era, Original Publishing wanted to release a version of this divine message with characteristics and production qualities that had been consigned to the past. The Bible is the world's best-selling book but its traditional format does not showcase it or make for easy reading. We wanted to create a large format for this great book that laid the foundations of our civilization and provides billions of people on Earth with hope and faith.
A painter and sculptor of sacred art, David Pons instigated this enormous project. He came up with the idea of producing this exceptional Bible during a meeting in his Paris workshop with publisher Philippe Mastantuono. His academic knowledge, developed during five years at the Vatican and through the restoration of several churches, was essential to the design of this edition.
The production of this prestigious book was supervised by Mauro Lecce, a printer specializing in the creation of art books that has been handed down from father to son for several generations. He works in particular with the publishing companies Tashen and Assouline. Under its supervision, the Holy Bible was produced in Italy, requiring the contribution of many master craftsmen specializing in the construction of precious, liturgical art books.
